A published regional starting point
The estimator starts with $20,000–$30,000 for a new whole-system installation. This is the educational range published on Rossi Septic’s services page, checked September 19, 2026. Rossi serves Kansas and Missouri and describes soil, system type and site conditions as cost drivers. This is one regional contractor’s published range, not a market average, our installer’s price list or a binding offer. No affiliation with that pricing source is implied.
The source does not provide a complete component-by-component price schedule. We therefore do not fabricate tank, labor, trench, bedroom or soil surcharges. Some projects cost less or more than the benchmark. A replacement may include removal, abandonment or other scope that the new-system benchmark does not establish.
The calculation you can inspect
Planning range = (base range + known excluded extras) × (1 + selected reserve percentage).
For example, a $20,000–$30,000 base, $2,000 of known excluded work and a 20% reserve produces $26,400–$38,400. The reserve is a homeowner-selected planning allowance, not a researched cost prediction. The default is 20%; you can choose 0%, 10%, 20% or 30%.
You can replace the benchmark with a written contractor range. If a quote already includes an item, do not add it again. Leaving extra costs at zero means you have not entered any known extras; it does not establish that all design, fees, electrical, removal or restoration work is included.
How property answers change the result
County, project type, bedroom count, soil status and site concerns produce a tailored list of missing decisions and documents. They do not apply unsupported dollar multipliers. The tool does not size a tank, select a treatment system, establish setbacks or decide permit eligibility.
Whole-system new construction, replacement and future installation on land are supported for preliminary planning. Minor repair, tank-only work and commercial projects receive a scope checklist without an invented installation price. Once your site has an accepted design and comparable proposals, those documents are the better pricing basis.
